Do I need to be good with technology?
No. We handle the technical setup and walk you through the controls you’ll use. Your dashboard is organized around your rooms and routines, and we plan physical controls for everyday essentials.
Can I really use one app for everything?
One app becomes your everyday control center for the compatible devices included in your project. Certain manufacturer apps may still be needed for setup, maintenance, or specialized features. We confirm exactly what you can control before installation.
How does voice control work?
A compatible voice assistant lets you control supported devices and run routines with simple phrases. We’ll help choose and configure an option for your home. Some voice services require internet access, extra hardware, or a subscription.
Can you use the smart devices I already own?
Often, yes. We first review the exact models, their supported features, and your network. We’ll explain what can be connected and where an upgrade would improve reliability or control.
Does my camera footage ever have to go to the cloud?
No. Your recordings stay on your UniFi NVR, physically located in your home. We leave cloud recording and cloud backups off. You own the storage, control who has access, and choose how long footage is kept. Uploading or sharing footage is your choice, not a requirement.
If you choose remote viewing through UniFi Protect, Ubiquiti's service helps establish an encrypted connection to your recorder; it does not store your recording library. Local storage does not mean every optional remote feature operates without an online service.
Protect encrypts the connection between its app and your recorder. Camera-to-recorder stream encryption is also available on supported equipment when enabled. These protect video in transit; encryption of recordings on the drives is a separate consideration. Read Ubiquiti's privacy explanation ↗
What happens if the internet goes down?
We set up everything that can run locally to work right inside your home, without relying on the internet. So when your internet goes down, your locally connected devices and routines keep working as usual, as long as your home has power and its local network is running. Features that need an internet connection, such as remote access, will return when it does.
What does a HomeSync system cost?
Pricing depends on the size of your home, existing infrastructure, selected equipment, and custom routines. Your proposal separates design, hardware, installation, programming, and optional support so you can choose with a clear picture of the costs.
What happens after installation?
We show you how to use your system, provide handover documentation, and refine the routines as you settle in. Optional HomeSync Care can include maintenance, backup checks, troubleshooting, and adjustments, with the scope and response times agreed in advance.
